Yobe Investment Company Limited (YIC) is a Development Finance Institution and a member of the Nigerian Exchange Group, established by the State Government to stimulate Investment awareness and promote industrial development of the State.

It was incorporated on 27th February, 1992 and its Operations are guided by the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, the Investments and Securities Act 2007 among others.

The key mandate of the Company are to identify investment opportunities, attract and collaborate local and foreign investors, promote the establishment of industries along the agricultural and solid minerals value chain in Yobe State.

The Company also assists entrepreneurs in packaging of bankable project feasibility studies, provision of information on sources of project financing, procurement of appropriate technology, identification of markets for finished products, managerial expertise and training.

“Investment Opportunities in Yobe State” is a publication of YICL which captures the Industrialization reform agenda of the administration of His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, in addition to vital information on investment opportunities, approved investment incentives, types, sources and location of raw materials, industrial applications and reserve estimates etc. It also contained information on viable Industries slated for resuscitation by Government under Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.

The Company actively represents Yobe State on the Network of Public Private Partnership of Nigeria (NPPPN), Ease of Doing Business Assessment, and African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) National Action Committee.

Our Functions

  • Increase utilization and available agro-based and solid minerals for the establishment of processing industries.

  • Increased private sector participation in the exploration and exploitation of mineral based raw materials and other Agricultural products in the State.
  • To render Capital Market Services to the investing community in and around Yobe State.
  • To partner with NGOs and development partners on executing projects that can move the State forward.

The State Government has also put in place a package of incentives to attract investors to the State. These incentives which are categorized into state specific and general were designed to promote investment, employment, sourcing and utilization of local raw materials.
